Hungary has a specific, geo-strategic position, which results a particular vulnerability to different crimes, like human smuggling and trafficking. As far as the trafficking in human being is concerned, Hungary is primarily a transit country, but is a smaller extent source and destination country as well. The Hungarian legislation as well as legal policy paid a great attention and sharpened its focus on trafficking in human beings as a serious human right violation. The issues like ensuring victim’s rights, victim’s protection, assistance and support also contributed to the development
of the situation of victim in the criminal proceeding.
