Italy 2000 Romanian children abandoned and 4000 arrested last year

  • According to Caritas Italiana’s report ‘Romana: Immigrazione e lavoro in Italia. Statistiche, problemi e prospettive’ about 4000 Romanian children were arrested last year, in Italy. These figures show that a third of foreign minors arrested within the country were Romanians. A large majority were ‘gypsy girls’ charged with burglary. Moreover, *the report claims that around 2000 Romanian children, gypsies for the most part of them, were abandonned, were wandering in the streets or even were sold by their parents.
