Bulgaria 70 per cent of prostitutes in Belgium are from Bulgaria

In order to fight human trafficking in Bulgaria, sending traffickers to jail is not enough, said Alexander Karagiannis, the deputy chief of mission of the US embassy, as reported by ‘The Sofia Echo’. According to M. Karagiannis, it is also important to cut of their financial ressources and the US are reportedly ready to help Bulgaria in this field. The report also mentionned diverse figures and statements that were mentionned today in Sofia, in the framework of a conference entitled “Money Laundering in Human Trafficking”.
