International Anti child trafficking experts from 3 continents meet and share experience

Chiang Mai, Thailand: Five months before the conclusion of the global project, all partners of the project could gather for the first time to share experiences and knowledge among the three regions of the project. The links between national-regional-global levels and opportunities for increased interregional cooperation were enhanced and the participants could draw up a summary of recommendations based on gained experience.
36 participants from South East Asia, Latin America and South Eastern Europe assessed successes and difficulties towards results for the purpose of evaluation. The results of the talks were enabling to look into the impact and effectiveness of the action in enhancing capacity through different strategies with the aim to improve human rights sensitive strategies against child trafficking.
The last day of the conference concentrated on the follow-up or exit strategy of the project to ensure sustainability and how to inter-relate the various levels of intervention, and share experiences within the framework of ICaCT with other regions outside the project.
In a friendly atmosphere, the interregional conference offered a platform for relevant bilateral or multilateral discussions between participants and networking opportunities. [VT]
