European Union Asylum: a single procedure with higher standards of protection

‘European Parliament’ reports that the Parliament plans to revise the Asylum directive and amendments were discussed by the Civil Liberties Committee. The amendments should make asylum process fairer for applicants and safeguards were added for minors and especially vulnerable people. MEPs want simplified, streamlined and consolidated procedures and decisions that are made within six months.
