Cyprus Child Commissioner seeks greater protection for young workers

‘Cyprus Mail’ reports that children between 15-18 are not protected by employment laws and have no legal protection in the area of health and safety in Cyprus. A draft law was prepared jointly by the Ministry of Labour and the Child Commissioner to tighten rules. Among the suggestions the Commissioner suggested the use of the term ‘child’ for any person under 18 so that there is no differentiation made.
