20 Jan 2012 | child trafficking

‘news.am’ reports that in line with statistics, child trafficking is not widespread in Armenia, but the recorded cases are alarming and they demand persistent preventive measures. This is noted in Armenia’s preliminary report to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. According to the report, five minors had become the victims of prostitution between 2005 and 2010. Also, no cases were recorded of child trafficking, or kidnapping, to other countries, but several criminal cases were launched on “child selling” charges.
