Kosovo Children Rights Day in Mitrovica

Mitrovica, Kosovo: On the 19th and 20th of November a few activities (basketball tournament, cross and an excursion) were organized for the children of Mitrovica with Caritas – Kosovo and the support of Tdh in Kosovo. In the basketball tournament, 10 schools from Mitrovica participated with 90 children and 200 children viewers; and 100 children participated to the cross race. The aim of these activities was the self-awareness of children about their rights, and responsibilities through games, and re-creative activities.

An excursion to Kushtove was also organized for 20 children of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities together with 15 children from Mitrovica’s schools. During this activity, children made drawings related to the Children rights Convention.

Other participants during these activities included all the Task Force members, teachers, animators from community, Caritas – Kosovo, and Tdh staff. [ZD]
