Malta Citizens empowered to fight poverty and injustice
Project : GREAT 4 Aug 2010 | education poverty
Saint Julian, Malta: the entire team of the Maltese NGO KOPIN dedicated the last week of July to design the new strategy of the NGO specialised in Development Education and Awareness Raising on North – South issues. The objective of the workshop was to draw the future orientation of the activities, revising its mission and defining fields of intervention for the coming five years. KOPIN is associate member of GREAT project, and the workshop has been supported by the European Commission and animated by one member of Tdh Regional Office for central and South Eastern Europe.
The working session made clear that the objective of KOPIN is to contribute to making the values of international development cooperation recognised as significant issues by both political and public spheres in Malta. In a near future, KOPIN would like to be involved in a significant number of initiatives as one of the strongest Maltese actors in international development cooperation.
The general strategy of KOPIN should be finalised before the end of the summer, and three other documents will be produced by the team: the performance monitoring plan to ensure the follow up of the strategy over five years, and the advocacy and communication sub-strategies. [VT]
