Europe Comment: 'We have a duty to protect these children'

‘Sofia Echo’ published an opinion of Thomas Hammarberg, the Human Rights commissioner, about the fate of unaccompanied foreign minors in Europe. He points out that some European countries are looking into the possibility of sending these children back to orphanages established in their countries of origin and he argues that these countries, signatories of the UN CRC have obligations to provide protection to these children, according to their best interest.
