‘Cyprus Mail’ reports that Cyprus has still not ratified the Council of Europe’s (CoE) Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. DISY’s Stella Kyriakidou said the CoE had spotted a big difference between the number of children who have suffered sexual abuse and the cases that are actually reported. Kyriakidou said some steps had been taken in Cyprus, “But there isn’t the desirable level of coordination among the services, so that we can move ahead with the Convention’s ratification”, she pointed out.
