Croatia European Court says Croatia violated Roma rights
16 Mar 2010 |
‘BBC’ reports that the European Court of Human Rights ruled that Croatia discriminated against Roma pupils by putting them in Roma-only classes. The country is obligated to pay 4,500 euros in damages to the 15 pupils of the case. The judgement said that allocation of the pupils into the Roma-only classes had been done on the basis of a general “psycho-physical” assessment, rather than a language test.
