Belgium European NGOs meet the new European Parliament

Brussels, Belgium: As part of a CONCORD initiative, project partners met with their national members of the European Parliament on November 17th in the Parliament building, to talk about the importance of development cooperation, the issue of policy coherence in development and to push for the integration of human rights into development.

After the successful advocacy event, partners participated in a two-day training on fundraising, and had a chance to assess their own readiness to raise funds from the public and to develop a strategy for fundraising. The training highlighted the fact that i*n order to be successful in fundraising, the organisation first needs to become transparent, well managed and well governed* and needs to understand the “competition” and the environment in which it wants to fund raise.
