Romania First generation of babies born with ethnobotanical drug dependency

11 Aug 2011 | health care hiv

‘Nine O’Clock’ reports that Romanian doctors are faced with increased prevalence of babies being born out of mothers who are either heavy drug users or use “ethnobotanical” drugs. These babies are born prematurely, with low weight and with a drug dependency. On the other hand, so far there has been no mechanism to follow up cases of these babies after they are released from the hospital with their mother, even when the babies suffer from other transmitted diseases like AIDS or hepatitis.
