France French Development Agency Seminar on Street Children

The French Development Agency together with the Samu Social International is organizing on the 9th of November 2010 a seminar entitled: “Street children: from individual case management to the implementation of social policies” (Enfants des rues: de la prise en charge individuelle a la mise en place de politiques sociales) in Paris at the AFD headquarters, Salle Jacques Alliot.
The sessions will be held in plenary with two separate but simultaneous workshops:
- Plenary: “The issue of children and youth in street situation: definition and trying to make sense of the phenomenon”
- Workshop 1: “What kind of partnerships should be developed between NGOs and public institutions to ensure the better care for street children? What are the good practices?”
- Workshop 2: “How can local and national authorities manage these socially excluded populations? What type of social policies can be implemented to prevent situations of vulnerability and to find solutions on a medium – to long-term?”
Registration to the seminar will run until the 15th of October and the application forms should be sent by this date to: pincentq@afd.fr and/or willarth@afd.fr
