Bulgaria French financial aid helps Bulgaria launch initiative on human trafficking

‘Novinite’ reports that the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Embassy of France in Bulgaria held a press conference on the launching a project “Prevention of trafficking in human beings who belong to ethnic groups with a focus on the Roma minority in Bulgaria”. During the press conference it emerged that traffickers recruit over 2.5 million women and children every year. The scheme aims to reduce the number of potential victims of Roma origin and to help reduce the number of abandoned children of Roma origin.
