Germany Germany battles rising tide of sex trafficking

‘The Local’ reports that German police is concerned about rising tide of trafficking of women and children for the purposes of sexual exploitation into Germany. According to the Office of Criminal Investigation many of the women and girls are trafficked from Bulgaria and Romania, often belonging to the Roma population. In 2009 710 victims were identified, but authorities agree that this is only the tip of the iceberg.
