Malta Government issues work permits to Under-16s
30 Sep 2011 | child labour protection systems
‘Malta Today’ reports that youths under the age of 16 will be able to work legally with parents’ consent and according to conditions set by Government departments. Government expects that this new process of issuing work permits will guarantee that young people would have age appropriate working conditions and anticipates that teenagers will also be protected against economic exploitation and safety risks included in the positions they fill. Parents and employers will be expected to fill in several forms permitting the student or child in question to work which would then be processed by several Government departments.
