Malta Government to pay increased child allowance from Saturday

‘Gozo News.com’ reports that the Government has said in a statement “that around18,000 families will receive an increased children’s allowance of €350 for every child. This increase will be paid directly into bank accounts, as designated by the parents". During 2013 the total paid out by the Government will be €41.8 million for the children’s allowance, an increase of €4.2 million over 2011. Also in the budget the Government introduced a new tax band for parents that will generate savings of €150 to €840 in income tax for some 55,000 parents.
