Project : EIDHR 21 Feb 2010 | child trafficking

On the 23rd of February, CILPS and Terre des Hommes co-organized a press conference to launch the regional report on the implementation of UNICEF guidelines. Representatives of International Organisations (UNICEF, ICMPD, OSCE, Save the children) and development agencies debated with government officials on the findings of the report.

943_reg_report_alb_feb_10_small Ms. Irena Taga, from the Office of the National Coordinator on Anti Trafficking said that “the regional perspective adopted by the report is welcomed” though highlighting that initiatives were already undertaken to improve the shortcomings pointed out by the report. As the Regional Report recommended, the drafting of SOPs has already started and as the OSCE Anti-Trafficking officer stated, the process would be an excellent opportunity to find a common definition of beneficiaries of assistance.

Zsofia Farkas, Project coordinator of “Enhancing capacity to address trafficking in especially children from a human rights perspective in Southeast Asia, Southeast Europe and Latin America”. presented the final publication of the project achievements summarized in the documents of “In pursuit of good practice to responses to child trafficking” written by Mike Dottridge.
