Albania In the shoes of a journalist

– Albania: “For once, I could really understand the point of view of the medias regarding our activities. The advocacy strategy of the coalition should be built on what we learnt and exchanged today!” Vasilika Laci, advocacy officer of the delegation of Tdh in Albania is concluding the communication workshop, held on 12-13 December 2008.

The first day, the members of the BKTF coalition worked on the main advocacy objectives for 2009 and defined together the targets and potential allies of the group of NGOs specialised on child protection. Then the second day was dedicated to practical exercises where participants played the roles of press officers or journalists, in the written press and on TV. “The video interviews were really useful, says Vasilika, we were in real situation to be interviewed, we had our talking points prepared, it was challenging and, at the end, quite funny to watch the interviews on TV! Image does not forgive any communication mistake!!"

Out of the 21 members of the BKTF coalition, advocacy officers from 9 organisations participated to the exchange of experience and practical exercises: ‘Amaro Drom’, ‘Arsis’, ‘National Center for Community Service’, ‘Ndihmë per Fëmijët’, ‘Partnerë per Fëmijët’, ‘Save the Children’, ‘Tdh’, ‘TLAS’ and ‘World Vision’.
