Europe International adoption without parents' consent

The Spanish newspaper ‘El Pais’ warns against adoptions without parent’s consent, a form of trafficking, which are now occurring in Spain. The article analyses the situation with Tdh and UNICEF’s study and assessments. A lot of adoptive families believe children should not grow up in such surroundings because of poverty and their frequent placement in institutions. However, according to Joseph Aguettant (Tdh delegate in Nepal, interviewed for the article), “It is very arrogant to think that we can give a better life to children just because we are richer. Children will always be happier in their own family, or at least, in their own country”.
