2 May 2012 juvenile justice

3052_ipjj-logo_smallExtract: In this edition the Panel Secretariat reports that 2012 Annual Meeting of the Interagency Panel on Juvenile Justice (IPJJ) took place in Vienna on 19 & 20 April and was co-hosted by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT). The IPJJ held an information stall during the 21st session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice that took place the following week.

The Panel Secretariat announced that the Child Rights International Network (CRIN) has just become the thirteenth member of the IPJJ. CRIN is a non-governmental organisation that disseminates information and carries out advocacy activities in children’s rights. They press for rights, not charity, and advocate for a genuine systemic shift in how governments and societies view children.
