: The Panel Secretariat would like to thank the UNODC and Penal Reform International (PRI) for hosting the *Panel’s Annual Meeting on 17-18 May 2009 in Amman, Jordan, under the patronage of Her Excellency Mrs. Hala Latouf, Minister of Social Development, who opened the meeting. It brought together regional and international representatives of Panel members, including UN bodies and NGOs, with the aim of achieving greater coordination in technical advice and assistance in juvenile justice. Panel members shared information on their juvenile justice reform work, emphasising good practices and lessons learned in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and other parts of the world. Members also committed to greater efforts in joint programming and identified priorities for common activities, tools and positions. (…)
