Kosovo Keeping Children Safe Toolkit presented in Albanian

2409_web1_smallJune 13th 2011, Prishtina, Kosovo: In the Amphitheatre of the National Library of Kosovo, Terre des Hommes International Federation, the Keeping Children Safe Coalition, and Terre des hommes – Child Relief Delegation in Kosovo launched the Keeping Children Safe toolkit in Albanian.

Representatives of different governmental institutions such as ministries and representatives from the Assembly of Kosovo, non-governmental, local and international organizations, civil society, schools, various interest groups and other stakeholders in general were invited to the launching event to provide them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the keeping Children Safe toolkit in Albanian.

The Deputy Minister of Justice, the political advisor of the minister of Labor and Social Welfare and one parliamentarian of Kosovo Assembly made public statements and strongly supported this initiative, guaranteeing support to Kosovo Institutions on child protection.

2408_web2_smallMr. Peter Brey, General Secretary of Terre des Hommes – child relief (Tdh) also attended the toolkit launch. During his speech he stressed the importance of the toolkit as a comprehensive pack of materials for people working in child protection across the world, putting child protection standards into practice, adding that “we are not alone in this way to protect children and this is the merit of all stakeholders and partners”.

Children from different schools in Prishtina gave a concert during the launching ceremony.

The launching event was followed by a ‘Training of Trainers’ workshop in the auditoria of the Faculty of Philosophy, in Prishtina, between 14-16 June, with 75 professionals working in child protection attending from Kosovo, Albania, Romania and Moldova.
