Hungary Mario: one year of knowledge and experience

Budapest, Hungary: All the implementing partners of Mario project gathered in Budapest the last day of November to exchange knowledge and experience after the first year of the regional initiative. 17 participants participated actively to a group discussion about the recent publications, analysis of trends and figures on the theme of Children on the move. The two advocacy concept papers were also discussed: ‘Child citizen’ and ‘Child protection system’. The future Mario web-page was presented with an interesting debate on the use of images and general ethical principles.
The team of Neglected Children Society, affiliated member of ECPAT Europe, presented the first results of a study on the participation of children and the means to measure it in programs’ implementation. Ms. Vasilika Laci, advocacy officer of Tdh in Albania, presented the findings of the evaluation of BKTF coalition in Albania, some of the elements should be very useful for the development of coalitions in Kosovo, Bulgaria or in Poland. The meeting ended with the planning the second year activities at the national and the transnational level, and the steering committee. [VT]
