International, Bulgaria MEP Edit Bauer: Human trafficking annual turnover runs to USD 32bln

‘Focus Information Agency’ reports of an interview with MEP Edit Bauer about the lucrative ‘business’ of human trafficking. She said that human trafficking was more profitable than illegal drug distribution with an annual turnover of USD 32billion per year globally. According to the Bulgarian Chief Inspector, 79 minors were victims of trafficking in 2010 in Bulgaria, increasing from 57 cases the previous year.
