UK Met Teams up with Romania in fight against child trafficking

  • The British daily ‘Evening Standard’ reports that Scotland Yard is going into partnership with their Romanian counterparts to smash a network of child trafficking into Britain. This 1 million pounds’ operation financed by the European commission is targeting the Roma gipsy gangs which exploit up to 1000 children on British streets to beg, steal handbags and mobile phones, and pick pockets. *This team made up of analysts and officers will be helped by the UK Border Agency and the Uk Trafficking Centre.
