Switzerland National workshop on child protection and prevention of sexual abuse of children

Olten, Switzerland – Tdh and other organisations discussed the issue of preventing sexual abuse of children in schools and other institutions working with children and young people. Workshops focused on the existing measures, or needed by these institutions, to prevent sexual abuse. The development of standards and best practices for institutions have been presented, as well as examples of how prevention measures can be implemented. “The establishment of clear standards is a key accomplishment, but it has to be put into action. Those who work with children play an important role in putting into practice, in the daily work, the ideas and principles of the standards”, Ignacio Packer, Tdh Program Director said.
