2527_logo_ngofest_smallSeptember 9-11, 2011, Bucharest, Romania: For the first time, this year Terre des hommes will participate at the national event of the NGOs festival in Romania. On the 9th, the 10th and the 11th of September the Festival is held in Bucharest, while on the 24th and 25th of September in Craiova, Tdh being part of it in both locations.

After a successful NGO Fair in Bucharest last autumn, this year the promoters – the Federation for the Development of the Civil Society – extend the event to other 9 cities all over Romania (besides Bucharest, to Constanta, Bacau, Iasi, Miercurea Ciuc, Sibiu, Cluj, Oradea, Timisoara and Craiova). The caravan, running from the 9th of September to the 16th of October, gives therefore the opportunity to hundreds of NGOs, big or small, to invest in their visibility and, most of all, to open a dialogue with the large public, the companies and the mass-media on important issues as social protection, social services, health, education, environment, culture and sport, etc, under the holistic approach promoting the development of the social economy.

2526_ngos_map_smallBoth for the Bucharest and the Craiova participation, Terre des hommes proposed a rich agenda: it includes a general presentation of the Foundation in Romania and concrete activities focusing mainly on those developed inside the MOVE project, like psychosocial activities for children and parents, interactive presentation of the MGS tool and workshops for children. Besides the permanent MOVE staff, Tdh volunteer animators and trainers will also be involved in the event.

A wide range of cultural moments ranging from modern and traditional dancing to theater for kids, concerts and sport activities took place, some of them proposed by NGOs participating at the Fair.

The Festival became possible thanks to the support of the European Union, the Romania Government, the European Social Fund, Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe and the Romanian National Authority for Sport and Youth.

Here is the Romanian presentation of the event.
