Europe Nigerian sex worker episode contains great risk of human trafficking

  • ‘Helsingin Sanomat’ published an interview with the OSCE Special Representative on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Eva Biaudet. She referred to a recent case Finnish police uncovered, in which Nigerian women were trafficked into Finland by a criminal gang and forced into prostitution. She pointed out how difficult it was in Finland to prosecute trafficking cases and that the option of granting residence permits has only been used in one single case in the last three years.
