Europe Out of Afghanistan: incredible stories of the boys who walked to Europe

‘The Guardian’ reports on unaccompanied Afghan minors often travelling on foot across Europe to find safety from war. While many do not claim asylum, in 2010 they constituted the biggest group of separated foreign children in Europe with 4,883 applying for refugee status. The adolescent children are almost all boys, often fleeing from violence or the threat of being recruited by the taliban, tell their stories to journalist Caroline Brothers who writes their personal stories.
