Denmark Parliament to end 50-50 child custody rule

13 Feb 2012 | best interests of the child

‘The Copenhagen Post’ reports that acknowledging that forced co-operation and shared custody do not work for all divorced families, politicians rethink law. “Before, the law focused on parents’ rights to their children. Now, we want to focus on the children’s rights. The children have been left alone with the burden of getting their parents to co-operate with one another, but now we’re going to take that burden off their shoulders”, said the social and immigration minister.
