‘Mirror’ reports that an image of a mother breastfeeding her three-year-old son on the cover of Time Magazine has sparked outrage. The mother, Jamie Lynne Grumet, said that she has given up trying to reason with strangers who see her nursing her son and threaten to “call social services on me or that it’s child molestation”. The magazine cover has sparked a storm on Twitter with many people accusing Time of “exploiting children”. It is unfortunate that the Mirror article re-publishes the photo.

Why do you write “It is unfortunate that the Mirror article re-publishes the photo.”What are the arguments against the picture from a child protection perspective?
While there may be no child protection issue, Mirror could have avoided to promote a controversial image. The picture could have been well described in words without having to necessarily republish it.
