‘Focus’ reports of an interview with Krasimir Lyubomirov, head of street crimes department of Sofia. He talks about pickpocketing that according to him is a profession for women who learn the trade from early childhood. He also mentions that Bulgarian pickpockets go abroad, while pickpockets from the neighbourhood come to Sofia. Unfortunately the article does not mention the fact that forcing children into pickpocketing is exploitation and that these children should be treated more as victims rather than juvenile delinquents.
