Moldova Programmes for children should become reality on the ground
17 Jan 2009 |
The ‘United Nations Office at Geneva’ reports that the Committee on the Rights of the child reviewed the periodic report of the Republic of Moldova. In his presentation the Minister of Social Protection, Family and Child put an emphasis on the reform in the area of deinstitutionalization and also on the adopted law on repatriation of persons and children victims of trafficking as well as the law on the prevention and control of domestic violence. The committee’s recommendations will most probably centre on making plans and programmes for children a reality on the ground, including the provision of adequate financing, further improvement of the health and education systems and ensuring that children are protected from violence in all settings.
