Moldova "Psychosocial activities represent the basis and the nexus of the projects we implement in Moldova"

Chisinau, Moldova: The teams of all three projects in Moldova- the FACT Child Protection Safety Net (CPSN), previously named FACT Community Based Actions, FACT Transnational Actions (TA) and MOVE project held a common meeting aimed at sharing experience and information, as well as building bridges between the projects. The reunion took place on April 16, at the central office of Tdh’s Delegation in Chisinau.

Special attention was paid to the experience of psychosocial group activities with children and their parents that the MOVE and FACT CPSN projects have. “The psychosocial activities represent the basis and the nexus of the projects we implement in Moldova” – said Mr. Roman Poznanski, the Tdh’s Delegate in Moldova.

The technical teams of FACT CPSN, FACT TA, including the Moscow regional office as well as the project’s coordinators discussed about the new approaches that will run through all three projects. Each technical team made a presentation on the activities and work they do in the framework of their respective projects.

The teams of FACT TA and FACT CPSN shared their experience and vision on case management – a tool used to coordinate care for children with emotional difficulties that substantially disrupt a child’s ability to evolve socially, emotionally and at school. They also discussed the specificity of case management and its implementation in the Russian Federation as a country of destination.

The participants also touched on the issue of child’s opinion and his/ her participation in all decisions that concern him/ her. They agreed that it is important to help children to understand correctly the circumstances of their lives and to help them to formulate and to express their opinion.

At the end of the meeting the Tdh team outlined a new strategy to pursue within the FACT TA project, as well as emphasizing the importance and the utility of such common meetings for all three Tdh projects in Moldova. [NM]
