Europe Refugee children should have a genuine chance to seek asylum

Human Rights Commissioner Hammarberg wrote an opinion about refuge-seeking children. He is pointing out that children accompanied by adults are treated as “possessions belonging to their parents” and if unaccompanied, authorities tend to focus only on how to bring them back to their parents. Children should be asked for their reasons and guardians should be appointed for unaccompanied minors – points out.
