European Union Roma campaigners dismiss Brussels' claim on evictions and expulsions

‘Guardian’ reports that Roma rights NGOs – among them the European Roma Rights Centre – warned the EU that evictions and deportations of Roma families, EU citizens continue in France and Italy. A year after highly publicized events during which authorities razed Roma encampments, there are the same number of Roma in France, but in much worse living conditions and a climate of fear and intimidation. ERRC warns that expulsions are continuing despite EU claims to the contrary.
