Kosovo Safe voluntary return for a young mother and her child

Pristine, Kosovo: On the 15/04/2009 an Albanian mother, 25 years of age, with her one year old child have been voluntarily escorted back to her place of origin in KukÍs, North East of Albania, by the Tdh Kosovo team. The young mother with her child has been abandoned by the husband. The husband brought them to Kosovo, where he forced his wife to beg and tried to force her into prostitution. When she refused she was violently abused. After a few days the husband took all her traveling documents and left to Albania, leaving her with a child alone on the streets. After a week she reported herself to the Police – a member of Task Force. Immediately the Tdh delegation in Kosovo was informed, and went to the police station to interview this young Albanian mother. Traveling documents were released, in order to help the mother and her child to return to her place of origin. In cooperation with Tdh team in Albania the young mother and her child have been safely returned to her father’s home. [ZD]
