UK Schoolgirls are being lured into prostitution, MP warns

The ‘Telegraph’ reports that the chairman of the Children, Schools and Families Select Committee, MP Barry Sheerman spoke out against gangs of criminals that are luring teenagers into the sex trade in the UK. He said there is a known pattern of young men approaching girls as young as 12, making the initial contact, acting as their boyfriends, later on older man are forcing these girls into sex and prostitution. They are playing on the vulnerabilities of these young children. In his response the Junior home Office minister said the safeguarding of children was an absolute government priority and is committed to finding a sophisticated response to the issue of trafficking.
