Serbia Serbia plans bigger education investment

5 Jan 2009 |

  • ‘Southeast European Times’ reports that Serbia decided to increase investment in education to 6% of GDP by the end of 2012. This investment is badly needed since the majority of elementary and high schools were built between the two world wars and have not seen any modernisation or renovation since. The equipment in schools is 42 years old on average. T*here is no heating in 25% of the schools and more than half do not have a gym.*
