Serbia Serbia Registers 89 Trafficking Victims in 2010

‘BalkanInsight’ reports that Serbia registered 127 identified trafficking victims in 2009 and 89 in 2010, according to a study entitled Human Trafficking Report in Serbia 2000-201*, published by ASTRA. Most victims of human trafficking in Serbia are women and girls, over 86 per cent are exposed to sexual exploitation. Although Serbia’s government adopted a Strategy on fight against human trafficking in 2006, it does not allocate budget resources towards combatting trafficking.
