Austria Spindelegger: “Austria campaigns for the protection of children in the UN Human Rights Council”

‘ISRIA’ reports that Vice-Chancellor and Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger on the occasion of International Children’s Day said that “Children’s rights are on the very top of the agenda of Austrian foreign policy. Even though nearly all states have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child, we unfortunately still witness daily violations of these fundamental rights”. He noted that the protection of children from violence and exploitation would be one of the focal areas of work during Austria’s membership in the Human Rights Council of the United Nations from 2011 to 2014.
