European Union Step forward on new EU rules against child pornography online

‘Sofia Echo’ reports that child abusers and viewers of child sex images on the web would face tough penalties under draft European Union rules as agreed with European Council representatives and approved by the European Parliament’s civil liberties committee. Offenders could face penalties ranging from one to at least 10 years in prison. The draft will be subjected to the European Parliament’s plenary vote in September 2011.
