Albania Stop placing kids in orphanages unnecessarily - says Amnesty

• Amnesty International published a press release calling on the Albanian authorities to ensure that children are not placed in orphanages due to the poverty of the family. Through greater assistance and support provided to such families, children could remain with their relatives, which is in their best interest. Amnesty is also concerned about the inadequate care and supervision of orphans leaving state children’s homes- which often leads to homelessness and social exclusion.
