Romania, UK Suspected member of child trafficking gang jailed for £800,000 benefits fraud

‘U TV’ reports that the leading member of the Romanian criminal gang that is believed by police to have trafficked 181 children to Britain was jailed for benefit fraud. He pleaded guilty for fraud on UK housing benefit, tax credits, income support and child benefit worth 800,000 pounds. Seven other gang members were also sentenced while another 26 are awaiting trial in Romania for child trafficking. The article points out that police has been trying to prosecute suspected traffickers or any and all offences with the aim of disrupting their activities.
