Switzerland Switzerland funds TV ads to deter African migrants

'IC publications' reports on the new media campaign produced by IOM and funded by Switzerland's Federal Migration Office. From the perspective of IOM, the campaign aims at alerting would-be migrants about the risks of illegal migration. Similar mass media campaigns have been launched in the past months in Africa, supported by the Spanish government and the EU. In Switzerland, this new campaign is put into relation with the last elections, when the 'hard-right' party won mainly due to its harsh statements on migration issues.
