South Eastern Europe The MOVE project: 3000 children involved (annual report)
Project : MOVE 6 Sep 2010 | summer camp
Lausanne, Switzerland: The summary of the annual report of the MOVE project for its third year of implementation was published. The report – while frank about challenges faced- points out the success of the project in creating enthusiasm and interest among children, parents and public officials, and that visibility of the project as increased considerably. A consultation involving a wide range of stakeholders concluded that MOVE should be advocated in more regions within each country, integrated into social and educational institutions and that a MOVE network should be created
Approximately 3000 children participated in the different MOVE activities, from Summer activities to the fair play events while 555 animators were trained in the MGS approach since the beginning of the project, including 60 parents. Strong partnerships were developed with educational and government institutions and the accreditation process is well on its way in Romania and Moldova. The project will continue until the end of 2011, ensuring that the methodology is sustainably adopted in each country and that animators continue using the methodology in their activities with children.
