Tirana: Trainings for 17 school psychologists were held on Child protection in the school* in Tirana city centre, Tirana (rural areas), Durres and Kruja in collaboration with the Human Development Centre from the end of February to early March 2010.

School psychologists in Albania have been recently appointed in their position and still miss skills and expertise in certain child protection fields. Therefore, experience sharing with other colleagues and capacity building is essential in this period. Focusing on child’s protection in the school, this training has been tailored to the needs of the school psychologists to better understand the role of the school in early identification, protection, integration and referral of vulnerable children in need of protection. “This training gave me a broader picture of my role and responsibility in the school to promote and protect children’s rights within the school” said one of the participants.
